In One Border or Another, drawing becomes a counter-cartographic gesture. These lines unfold as wandering paths. They resist the illusion of fixedness and offer, instead, a cartography of shifting relations, a geography of the uncertain.
Initially, I made them as companions to the braided wicks suspended in my large-scale installation, as a 2 Dimension map of the ceiling network, a two-dimensional trace of the braids.
