Data
Narratives, and coordinate pairs (Level of precision varies).
Series of candle-globes with a wick passing between two points on the surface, the mapped locations of people separated from loved ones by forced displacement or severe visa restrictions.
When lit, two flames move toward one another from opposite shores, steady and uncertain, the moment of meeting is also the moment of collapse. Mirrors beneath each candle cradle the globes and keep the residue, so what melts settles as a record. In the gallery, the pieces refuse a single, sovereign view; each globe has melted in its own way. Each globe, or once globe, carries a narrative of one of those two ends, an audio playing in headphones. You must walk them, stitch them with your steps, listen until the coordinates turn back into people.
searching for a path from within this series asks how intimacy travels after it has been torn. And when the lights dim, does the cooled wax remember the heat?
