This project has two parts.

A paper shredder is suspended mid-action. The roll of paper is printed with a series of dates, the precise moments when I photographed myself over recent months, down to year, month, day, hour, minute, and second. The work emerged while I was experiencing a gradual decline in memory as a side effect of medication at the time for multiple sclerosis.

On a pedestal, I extracted the exact timestamps of photos of myself from my phone/camera and converted them to Eastern Time (UTC−5/UTC−4), situating the pedestal in my Connecticut studio to bridge the temporal gap with my original home, Tehran, Iran. I then hand-wrote each converted date, hour, and minute across the pedestal surface until the entire surface was covered. ( photographs from 2015–2020.)
