Project type
Museum Curatorial
Date
2023

During Fall 2022, I served as a co-curator and participating artist for Raid the Archive: Edwin Way Teale and New Works, an exhibition drawing on the Edwin Way Teale Papers (UConn Archives & Special Collections) and site research at Trail Wood, the Teales’ home and now a Connecticut Audubon Sanctuary. Our cohort conducted three months of archival and field research, worked with primary materials, and translated that research into both exhibition design and new artworks. My contributions included curatorial research and selection within the themes of maps, connections, and the creation of a research-driven artwork. The project argues that material engagement with primary sources and site-based revisiting (walking, observing, photographing) can produce insights that are exhibited as public knowledge.
